-the 2nd annual-
Birds & Boar Hunt
At Rock Springs Ranch& Lodge, April 26-28, 2002

A unique hunting adventure for devotees of double guns and rifles at Rock Springs Ranch over the weekend following the Gold Medal Concours d’Elegance and the Western Double Gun & Rifle Championships.

Whether you wish to recreate the romance of a classic African safari or the bygone elegance of a Black Forest hunt, this is a perfect opportunity to use your fine vintage double rifle, Drilling or cape gun in the manner in which it was intended. With a professional guide at your elbow, you’ll stalk wild boar and re-live the challenge of taking dangerous game at close quarters with iron sights or low-power optics. Then, for a change of pace, use your double shotgun or combination gun to take fast-flying chukar partridge over dogs. This is a hunting experience to savor, couched in the world-class comforts of Rock Springs Ranch & Lodge and in the company of convivial, like-minded shooters.

Hunters will arrive at the ranch on Friday, April 26, after lunch, for a wild boar hunt. On Saturday hunters will be out before dawn, again to stalk boar; after brunch, a return to the field, this time with shotguns for chukar. That evening we’ll again pursue wild boar. On Sunday morning the boar will be our target; after lunch we’ll depart with venison, gamebirds and indelible memories.

)

Note: Although Roger Sanger and Silvio Calabi will take part, the
Africa/Austria Birds & Boar Hunt is not a Gold Medal Concours event. It is
entirely the responsibility of Rock Springs Ranch & Lodge–but it is very
much in the spirit of the Gold Medal Concours.
