Rock Springs Ranch & Lodge (www.rockspringranch.com) is a supremely comfortable and scenic 19,000-acre wingshooting hideaway in south San Benito County, in California’s central coastal range. Non-shooting activities include hiking and wildlife viewing, soaking in the outdoor spa, or simply relaxing on the lodge’s spacious porches or in the library, living room or guest rooms (all have full baths; many have fireplaces). The seaside destination communities of Monterey, Carmel and Pebble Beach (wineries, golf, shopping) are less than 90 minutes drive away. Early May is the peak of springtime here, when the grass is green, the wildflowers are blooming and the temperatures are about perfect. There is a travel package available for those who wish to stay at the lodge The closest other accommodations are in Hollister/San Juan Bautista (45 minutes north on Hwy 25) and King City (on Hwy 101, 30 minutes west). Paso Robles is southwest (75 minutes) on Hwy 101. The resort cities of Carmel, Carmel Valley, Pebble Beach, Monterey and Pacific Grove are 90 minutes to the northwest. |
